The Bon Dance Festival features captivating performances from Ko‘olau Sakura Odori Kai, Iwakuni Odori Aiko Kai, and Hawai‘i Eisa Shinyuu Kai, blending traditional Japanese and Okinawan music with taiko drumming and the unique Sanshin. New highlights this year include a Shishimai Lion Dance by Hawai‘i Okinawa Creative Arts and energetic taiko drumming by Somei Taiko. The festival also honors the resilience of the Lāhainā community with a special performance of the Lāhainā Ondo, dedicated to those affected by last year’s wildfires.
